Guest Expert: Restless Exhaustion with Jen Kates (she/her), CHC, CPT, PPSC

About This Session

This month, we're diving deep into one of the most common struggles for high-achieving athletes: restless exhaustion. You know the feeling—you're physically depleted but mentally wired, too tired to train well but too anxious to truly rest.

To help us navigate this territory, we're bringing in Jen Kates, an expert in nervous system regulation, boundary-setting, and helping high-performers break free from the "rest is something you earn" mindset.

What We'll Explore

Jen specializes in helping busy professionals, athletes, and high-achievers understand:

  • Why constant accessibility keeps your nervous system activated (and what to do about it)

  • How to set boundaries at work and in training without guilt or fear

  • Why being responsive isn't the same as being productive (and how to tell the difference)

  • The hidden costs of always being available to everyone except yourself

  • How to rest without guilt when your brain tells you rest is something you have to earn

  • Practical strategies for nervous system regulation that actually fit into an athlete's life

Session Format

This will be a 60-minute live conversation where Jen will share her thoughts on navigating restless exhaustion, followed by Q&A with the community. We'll record the session so you can revisit it anytime.
